Job Description

Blessey Marine (inland tank barge towing) is hiring tankermen. The primary function is to prepare assigned barges for safe loading and discharging of oil, refined, and petrochemical cargoes. Duties include ensuring required federal and state barge documents are aboard and in order; communicating with dock personnel during transfers; helping maintain the boat and barges; training new hires aspiring to become tankermen; and handling lines and rigging during tow building, locking, and docking. Must wear full PPE including respirators. The position is classed FLSA exempt.

Vessel type: Inland towboat / tank barge
Watch: 6 hours on / 6 hours off (max 15 hrs per 24, 42 hrs per 72)
Rotation: 2:1 (20 on/10 off or 28 on/14 off)
Must be able to drive to and from hub cities
