Dock Worker Apply Now Description/Job Summary The Bridgeport and Port Jefferson Steamboat Company is currently seeking Dock Workers! Local to Bridgeport, CT preferred.Summary: The Dock Worker helps to ensure smooth and efficient loading and unloading of vehicles, maintains the cleanliness of the loading dock and performs other duties assigned. Responsibilities/Duties Description of Duties:Meet and greet incoming customers. Give directions and advice to ferry passengers.Position cars to ensure efficient and safe board of the ferry.Perform routine maintenance tasks on the dock.Perform security sweeps of the ferry terminal, loading dock and parking lots.Inspect vehicles as deemed necessaryMaintain knowledge of security procedures and perform same as requiredHandle ship's lines, freight and ramp operationsRun errands as requestedPerform additional duties as assignedDockworkers working Bridgeport, CT are also responsible for:Drive shuttle bus to escort passengers from off-site parking lot to the ferry loading dock Required Experience Minimum Requirements:HS degree or equivalentValid TWIC card or proof of application for TWIC card.Must be willing to apply, obtain and maintain United States Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC)Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, day and evening shifts.Physical Requirements:Must be able to handle and throw linesMust have the ability to stand and perform duties outdoors in all weather conditions.
